Acer has unveiled their latest Chrome-spun device, the Chromebook 14, and it’s just as rugged as it looks. The company claims that the notebook can be dropped from a height of four feet without suffering the slightest bit of damage, and if you spill an entire can of Mountain Dew on the keyboard, all the hardware will be safe and sound (although the keys will be probably be very sticky).

It kind of looks a lot like a Macbook to us, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, the Chromebook 14 isn’t here to catch your eye with a flashy or unique aesthetic. The full name of the device is actually either the Chromebook for Work 14 or the Chromebook 14 for Work, which is a pretty clear indicator that this notebook is targeted toward enterprises and small businesses. It’s affordable $349 price tag makes it an attractive option for a company looking to equip all of its employees with a work computer, and its durability means it can be hauled from work to home to conference room to office without worry. It’s also got a nice anti-glare screen that makes it perfect for typing away on a coffee shop patio.
Taken altogether, this Acer notebook looks like it will be a pretty solid pick for a user on the go and on a budget, someone looking for a secondary device, or businesses looking to get their workforces suited up for the 21st century.
