Exploding Kittens is an extremely popular card game featuring artwork by “The Oatmeal”, and while very different from Cards Against Humanity, both share at least one commonality in the form of humor that might be considered less appropriate by those who are wound a bit tightly. Back in January, Exploding Kittens leapt off the paper cards and onto the iPhone (and iPad). Now the app has finally arrived to Google Play as well.

The new digital version of Exploding Kittens shares the same basic gameplay mechanics as its non-digital counterpart, which boils down to out-thinking and out-guessing your opponents in order to prevent yourself from ending up with an exploding kitten card. If you get an exploding kitten card, you’re out of the game round.
As the game progresses, you’ll use defense cards, luck, and trickery to keep yourself in the game as long as possible. The game ends when all but the last player has been eliminated.
Exploding Kittens for Android can be played through local or online multiplayer, though due to the nature of the game, there’s no single-player mode. The local multiplayer mode uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to communicate with all the phones present locally, while the regular online version — well, I think you probably can figure out how that works.
Exploding Kittens is priced at $1.99 and also includes in-app purchases, though the in-apps are not necessary to enjoy the game. What do you think, anyone planning on picking this one up?
