Earlier this month, Sony began rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for the Xperia Z3 and Z2, but only for select model number devices enrolled in the Sony Marshmallow beta program. More Sony Marshmallow update love is happening now though, with multiple new variants of the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 getting the update.

The Xperia Z5 series, Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z3+ got the update first, followed by the following variants enrolled in the Sony Marshmallow Beta program a few weeks ago: Xperia Z3 (D6603), Xperia Z2 (D6503) and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803).
The latest batch of updates are rolling out to the following devices: Xperia Z3 (D6646 and D6653), Xperia Z3 Compact (D5833), Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633), Xperia Z2 (D6502) and the Xperia Z2 Tablet (SGP511, SGP512 and SGP521). The updated build number takes these devices to 23.5.A.0.570 and is a pretty hefty download, coming it at over 900 MB.
The update delivers all the usual Android Marshmallow features, including Doze Mode, granular app permissions, Google Now on Tap and native fingerprint support. But it also adds a bunch of unique Sony features including an all-new camera interface, Xperia Messaging and Direct Share.
Have you got the update yet? Why do you think the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact missed the update train?
