If you listen closely, that creaking sound you hear is the looming collapse of our entire media model. The future is virtual and interactive with 360 degrees of immersion. Although these technologies have been around for a while, 2016 is proving to be the year in which they all go mainstream. Although YouTube launched their 360-degree video support back in March of last year, we’re really only just now seeing it truly take off. And just in time, YouTube has now added support for live streaming in this medium with the ability to use spatial audio.

So far, it looks like some pretty awesome stuff. The stream king has set up a playlist specifically for Android users, so if you want to check out this immersive video content yourself, then just head over here on your mobile device. We’ve been seeing 360 live streaming events cropping up all over the place so far this year, but having this functionality available on the world’s most popular video service is sure to make this technology a lot more mainstream. Expect to start seeing sporting events, concerts, and virtual classrooms arriving live on YouTube in the near future, because we’re betting this is really going to take off.
