Pocophone F1 gets hefty stable update: Expect 4K/60fps recording, Game Turbo, more

The Xiaomi Pocophone F1.

The Pocophone F1 was the cheapest Snapdragon 845 smartphone of 2018, bringing flagship power for roughly $300. And the phone is getting even better thanks to a stable MIUI update that’s rolling out now.

Poco India general manager Manmohan Chandolu announced the update’s availability on Twitter, while also detailing what it brings to the table.

The new update (MIUI 10.3.4.0.PEJMIXM) brings the Widevine L1 DRM, new AI camera modes, Game Turbo (Xiaomi’s take on GPU Turbo), and 4K/60fps video recording. The latter is particularly noteworthy as you rarely see 4K/60fps recording come via an update.

The Pocophone F1 stable update also includes face unlock support in the app lock feature, as well as general face unlock optimizations. Finally, the update also brings the March 2019 security patch.

You’ll want to download the update via Wi-Fi, as it weighs in at about 515MB. Intrigued by the Pocophone F1 after this update? Then you can view the Amazon store listing via the link.
