Facebook Is Testing Face ID And Touch ID Lock For iOS Messenger

Facebook is testing a new feature for iOS devices that will add another milestone to privacy. Soon, the social media platform is going roll out Face ID and Touch ID lock for Facebook Messenger for iOS. The lock feature is expected to debut with future updates.

The Facebook-owned instant messaging platform, WhatsApp, already supports both Face ID and Touch ID lock. Soon, the feature will be available for the Facebook Messenger too.

The best part about the lock feature will be that the user can always decide the period of the lock. For example, users can decide whether they want the authentication feature every time they open the app or they can set a time limit ranging from 1 minute to an hour.

The lock feature for Facebook Messenger will up the security and no one will be able to see a user’s message even if users’ phone is unlocked.

As of now, the feature is being tested and is in the development stage. As per the speculations, the Facebook Messenger Face ID and Touch ID authentication feature will be rolled out in the coming months.

Facebook keeps experimenting and rolling out new features. Recently, it launched the Messenger Rooms. This new feature gave a head to head competition to the famous video conferencing app Zoom. The Messenger Rooms has a capacity to allow 50 participants in a video conference, that too for an unlimited time.
