Being a DJ can be expensive. You have a load of equipment to buy and then you have to invest the time to learn it, use the software, and create awesome music. Believe it or not, there are some decent DJ apps on Android. There aren’t any currently that can run the whole show but you can use these to augment a set up and make it a little bit better. First on our list is Cross DJ. This application has an extensive list of features including BPM measurements of all of your music, stable syncing, pitch bending, beat grid editing, and much, much more. If you decide to throw down the money on the paid version, you’ll be able to record your creations, have access to more effects, sample banks, and built-in pads. It’s a strong app for a decent price and a great place to start.
DJ Studio 5

DJ Studio 5 is considered one of the best apps in this space. It’s also one of the most popular. This is likely because the application allows for every feature for free and there are quite a few of them. Some of them include two virtual turntables, various effects and sample packs, music recording, Soundcloud integration, and compatibility with some types of hardware including the iRigMIX mixer. It’s about as powerful of a DJ app as you can find.
djay 2

When djay 2 first hit the scene on iOS, it was a smash hit. It took a good long time for it to come to Android but it eventually did and reigns as one of the best DJ apps available today. This comes with Spotify integration, auto-mixing, effects, pitch-bend, looping, cue points, and much, much more. It’s really between this, edjing (below), and DJ Studio 5 for which one is most powerful and it really depends on what you need in a DJ app. This one is one of the pricier ones on the list but it’s easy to use and it works.
edjing DJ Music Mixer Studio

edjing DJ Music Mixer Studio is another very powerful DJ app that has a ton of features. This one has direct Deezer and Soundcloud access along with a social media aspect so you can create profiles for people to find and tune in. You can also upload your mixes to the cloud and use the app’s built-in turntables, sample packs, cross fader, and effects. There are even some customization options. It’s free to try which should make this an easy decision.
FL Studio Mobile and Groove Machine
[Price: $16.49 and $9.95]
We’ve grouped FL Studio Mobile and Groove Machine together because they are both developed by Image-Line. These are both DJ apps that allow you to to create music, record music, and play around with your tracks to get them just right. FL Studio is a bit better with music creation while Groove Machine seems to do a little better with music recording. Both apps are relatively expensive which makes their criticisms really stick out, but overall they’re both very solid applications.
