For those not in the know the Amazon Echo essentially aims to be the hub of even the most rudimentary smart home. It can play music from Prime Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and other streaming services in immersive omni-directional audio. Voice controlled, you can ask its AI inhabitant Alexa questions on the fly, and she can even control lights, thermostats, and security systems through integration with smart home services like Nest and ecobee. Order Domino’s, call an Uber driver… all on the fly by just speaking the words aloud. It’s pretty magical.
